How We're Responding to COVID-19In response to the pandemic, Fuji Bike Tour has implemented flexible cancellation policies and measures that exceed government standards for cleanliness, disinfection and prevention of COVID-19 transmission. Here are some of the steps we're taking to ensure the health and safety of our guests and employees:
We conduct most of our tours outdoors in uncrowded, off-the-beaten-path rural settings conducive to social distancing. This enables you to enjoy the beauty of nature and sites of cultural interest while encountering relatively few people other than our guides.
"Optimal for Social Distancing" is displayed under the titles of tours which involve little or no time spent at indoor public facilities or in proximity to people other than our guides, enabling visitors for whom this is a high priority to easily find the most suitable itineraries on our website.
Because all of our tours are private (unless you request a shared tour in advance) and we hold all of our half-day and full-day tours in a region of Japan that has had only about a dozen confirmed COVID-19 cases over the entire duration of the pandemic, the risk of exposure to an infected person is low.
Bike helmets and frequently-touched surfaces of our bikes and support car are thoroughly disinfected before each tour.
Our guides wear masks when with guests in enclosed spaces like museums and our support car. We always keep spare disposable masks on hand for guests who need them.
Temperature and symptom checks are performed on our guides before each tour. Guides are not allowed to conduct a tour if they have a fever or other symptoms of infection.
Our guides are tested for COVID-19 whenever they show symptoms or bimonthly, as permitted by government policies. If they test positive, they are not allowed to conduct a tour until two weeks after they have become symptom free and tested negative.
We arrange pick up and drop off by private car at open or outdoor locations so our guests can maintain optimal social distancing before and after tours. We also offer the option to upgrade to pick up and drop off service at a location of your choosing.
Our guides avoid physical contact with guests and refrain from shaking hands when we greet and see you off.
Fresh snacks, lunches and bottled water are always provided to guests in unopened containers and packaging that have not been touched by members of other tour groups.
Our support car always carries hand sanitizer and sanitizing wet wipes. Our guides frequently use them, and we encourage our guests to do so as well.
We provide a secure online payment webpage where guests cover all deposits and tour fees in advance by credit or debit card so the payment process is contactless.
