Description: In this full-day tour by private car, our guides transport you to Katsunuma, a region in the picturesque Koshu Valley near Mt Fuji where the majority of Japan's wine is produced. There, at three award-winning wineries and a large wine cellar, you'll enjoy tasting delicious wines made from not only Western grapes but also the indigenous Koshu variety for which Japanese winemaking is best known. Between wine tastings you'll savor a delicious gourmet lunch at a five-star restaurant.

Then stop at vista points where you'll take in magnificent views of the Koshu Valley, Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. Experience spectacular seasonal attractions like cherry trees that bloom in spring and maples whose leaves turn red and yellow in autumn.

A fascinating tour of a charming, family-owned sake brewery tops off this delightful day. Learn from fifth-generation brewers how sake and plum wine are traditionally made in Japan. (You may substitute an additional winery or cellar visit for the brewery tour, if you prefer).

This tour is accessible and fun regardless of your level of experience with wine and sake. It's an excellent choice for your own vacation or as a gift to friends, family or newlyweds.
